Safe Haven

Anthony P Postiglione Jr

Between Sicily and the North African coast, Malta is an archipelago in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. The nation is well-known for the historical landmarks it has built that have been used by Roman, Moorish, Hospitaller, French, and English rulers, among others. The Catacombs of Al Saflieni are an underground complex of halls and burial chambers that date back approximately 4000 BC. There are also numerous forts, megalithic temples, and other structures.

Since September 21, 1964, Malta has been an independent state and a republic, respectively. Between 1964 and 1974, Malta was an independent state that still recognized Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain as its monarch. Prior to 1964, it was a part of the British Empire. According to Anthony P. Postiglione Jr., despite Malta’s small size, there are numerous things to do, including

  • Going on boat trips
  • Going to beautiful places
  • Going to historic towns and cities
  • Visiting beautiful places
  • Dining adventure activities like scuba diving or snorkeling
