Anthony in Malta

Anthony Postiglione Jr

Malta is an archipelago in the central Mediterranean between Sicily and the North African coast. The country is known for its historical sites associated with various rulers, including  Romans, Moors, Hospitallers, French and English. There are numerous forts, megalithic temples and the Catacombs of Al Saflieni, an underground complex of halls and burial chambers dating from around 4000 BC.

Malta has been an independent state since 21 September 1964, and a Republic since 13 December 1974. Before 1964 Malta formed part of the British Empire, and between 1964 and 1974 it was an independent state but still recognised Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain as its Monarch.
